SMART Goal Setting:

I was initially exposed to the idea of SMART goal setting during an ACE trainer certification course. Apparently, this is not a new innovation. I favor this method over other goal setting tactics due to it's simplicity. I've read whole books dedicated to learning how to set goals in your [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] life. S = Specific

M = Measurable

A = Attainable

R = Realistic

T = Timely

Specific - Your goal must be specific. In your mind there must be a vivid portrait [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] of that which you want to achieve. Your brain is a picture-book. Therefore, you must have a clear image of what it is that you desire. For example, you have the intention of becoming rich and quitting early from the vocation that keeps you up at night. Not likely with that goal. You will never get that because it's way to indefinite. Your goal may begin as a general thought. For this intention to actually happen is must be a crystal-clear image in your head. This vague desired result could be specified like this.....I am working at least 10 hrs every week to bring into existence a network marketing business with company XYZ to carry out at least $10,000 per month$10k/mo in residual compensation. This brings my premature retirement no later than 30NOV2012.

Measurable - The goal must be broken down into measurable and managable segments. In the previous example your desired result was to reach a goal of $10,000 per month via network marketing in about 2 years. Practicing SMART goal setting you can then ask "what work habit is required?" Let's say you have to sign-up at least 2 business partners in your network marketing business every month to devise a body large enough to generate your desired benefits in 2 yrs. Breaking that down even further let's say you needed to have 30-40 leads to sponsor two reps. That would equate to sponsoring an average of two leads daily coming into your business. So you must come by at least 2 leads per day reach your end destination of financial freedom. Do you see how you start from the overall objective and simplify it up into small, measurable daily action steps? Like the saying goes "inch by inch it's a cinch!"

Attainable - Let's face it. Not everyone is [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] physically gifted like Michael Jordan. For me the intention of breaking Mike's points per game record is absolutely impracticable. In that same breath I will say that you can do almost anything you put your mind to. [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] SMART goal setting dictates that you must only set daily objectives that you can accomplish. Applying our example earlier it would not be good to decide upon a goal that said, "I will obtain 2 business leads every day no matter what." This is setting yourself up for catastrophy. It was a bulky misconception I made when just starting out in MLM. I set that very objective and then beat myself up when [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] I didn't reach it every single day. A more fitting objective would state "I am prospecting at least 5 people every day [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] to come [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] by 31 leads monthly." This translates to getting 5 new sets of eyeballs to see my opportunity each day . Truely the only aspect of this business we have compelete control over is our work ethic. Realistic - You want to challenge yourself to grow, but you also want to hit the goals you decide upon. Set small objectives that you have no doubt you can hit on the first stages of your journey. With that achievement your fortitude grows. Once you hit an intention just reset it and [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] expand upon it. Even if your first few objectives seem like a cake walk it will get harder as you progress. Don't set gargantuan desired results right away or again you'll be setting yourself up for catastrophy. Fixate on consistent effort and increasing incrementally along the way.

Timely - This is one of the elementary yet most often overlooked parts of intention setting. You must build a time-line for the achievement of your main goal along with all of your sub-goals that will get you there. Just remember "someday" never comes. Without a hard time-line you'll never reach your destination.
